Artist Statement
My personal documentary work is guided by anthropological observation and the belief that "we are more the same than we are different." I seek to document transformation, agency, and cultural complexity—avoiding both romanticization and exploitation. These projects are intended to span years rather than days or weeks, allowing relationships and understanding to deepen. The goal isn't comprehensive documentation but intimate revelation of how individuals and communities navigate change while maintaining dignity and identity. This long-term, relational approach informs my professional work with mission-driven organizations—emphasizing collaborative storytelling that respects community voice and reveals authentic transformation.
