Yo Soy Mariachero
As a boy in Jalisco, Mexico, Rosalío Chavarín wanted to be mariachi, but his mother forbade it. He obeyed, immigrated to the U.S., raised a family, built a life far from mariachi, but never stopped singing. Now at 80, he performs alongside his daughter and granddaughter in the Villa Musica Logan Heights Mariachi Ensemble in San Diego. This is the dream his mother said he couldn't have.
